Buy and Sell Your Friends, or Just Bluff Them – washingtonpost.com
This is a brief list of the top ten social applications used on Facebook. The sources listed are “Facebook” and “staff reports.” I wonder what kind of staff reports and Facebook data was gathered to post this list. Are these staff reports from actual staff members that use the applications? Was there an interview conducted with official Facebook staff members? This would be key information to know in order to validate the difference between news sources and the value of the proposed statistics. In any case, as a Facebook user, I can say the list contains several applications used by me and my friends. I’m sure the list of applications crosses other Facebook users in the global network like six degrees of separation theory!
Facebook has opened its API and it is anticipated they will launch a new Facebook UI. It can be expected users will be inundated with new applications. Developers have been hard on the code to improve current applications and provide new applications to fit this new user interface proposed by Facebook. Unfortunately for users, there has been no release of a “beta” environment for user-level testing of things to come. What will Facebook offer next?
